On the edge of the Arenal National park and with stunning views of the Arenal volcano, Lost Iguana has an ideal location to explore the volcano and the surrounding nature and wildlife and is one of the closest hotels to the volcano. The Arenal lake and all the activities are still close by.

Rooms: There are 42 hillside rooms that each have a view of the Arenal Volcano and with private patio or balcony and air-conditioning. The standard deluxe rooms have two double beds, then there are Luxury Suites that have either two double beds or one King bed and have more space and an outside Jacuzzi. There are also villas that have either junior suites or superior suites and these have two bedrooms and extra facilities such as microwaves and fridges.

Dining: The Hibiscus open air restaurant offers Costa Rican cuisine as well as continental and is also where the complimentary breakfast buffet is served. There is a thatched bar that offers happy hour between 3 and 5pm.

Onsite: Include two pools, the upper hot pool that has a swim up bar and a lower cool pool with waterfall. The onsite spa offers a range of services and is in a separate building. There are two trails onsite for a 1 hour or 2 hour hike. The gardens offer a range of exotic species and at night lightening bugs can be seen on the grounds.

Our Comment: Fabulous place to feel immersed in nature and enjoy the stunning views of the volcano, hearing the howler monkeys as you wake, spotting toucans in the day and lightening bugs at night and wandering the exotic tropical gardens.
