Set on a hill 1,600 metres above sea level, surrounded by cloud forest and coffee plantations, the lodge has views to four volcanoes and on a clear day to the Pacific Ocean.

Rooms: The hotel has 12 rooms, 11 are Recibidor Suites and there is a Forest Suite with a wraparound balcony with views to the forest on one side and views across the valley to the front. Each of our Recibidor Suites resembles a Recibidores, a coffee receiving. These stations are found along roads and hills, and at the end of the day the local coffee farmers haul their coffee cherries to the stations to be processed in the larger mills. The decoration of the rooms includes coffee sticks hanging from the ceiling, handmade painted furniture, coffee sacks decorating the walls, a coffee table that actually looks like a coffee bean. The rooms have luxury mattresses with first class linens and each room has a balcony with views across the valley and a table and chairs to enjoy the view.

Dining: Dining can occur in the Quelites Restaurant with its fireplace and large glass windows with lovely views, or you can dine outside on the terrace.

Nearby Excursions: Nature excursions are plentiful from Chayote, visit local cloud forests with a guide to see Quetzals and other colourful birdlife. Nearby Poas volcano can easily be visited or hike to the Toro Amarilla waterfall. Alternatively, take the opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture with a trip to a local coffee producer, or dance with locals in an afternoon or night visit, visit a local home and cook with them one of their daily dishes, or visit the Naranjo market and local town.
