Hotel Bougainvillea

Hotel Bougainvillea is ideally located only 30 minutes drive from the international airport. It is located between the cities of San Jose and Heredia.

Dining: The restaurant serves Costa Rican and international dishes and has views of the gardens. Popular dishes include white sea bass with shrimp, a ceviche or a Costarican “casado”.

Onsite: The hotel is situated in 10 acres of tropical gardens that attract many birds including hummingbirds, motmots, kingbirds and flycatchers. The garden also features a great variety of tropical plants, including heliconias, bromeliads, orchids,and trees attract butterflies and birds which brighten the environment with their colours and sounds. Featuring seven different colours of the Bougainvillea flower, our garden pays tribute to this flower which inspired the hotel’s name. Also, there are several small ponds where we are working on preserving endangered frog species, such as Forreri’s Leopard frog, the Blue-sided tree frog, and the Brilliant forest frog.
